Slouchy Hat!

Ok so I actually made the slouchy hat BEFORE I made the beanies, because I had an immense fear of crocheting in the round. Those damn circles scared me! So when I found a hat to make without having to do that I was all over it!

Oddly enough, i can't find the original video I used to do this. But I do know the general idea of how to crochet it!

First, here's a final products:

That is a smaller version on my 5 year old. Here's a bigger version on me:

Perhaps a more advanced crocheter will understand my basic explanation:

And all you do- chain stitch as long as you want the hat to be. The longer the hat, the more slouch.
Half Double Crochet 5 stitches, Double Crochet all the rest until you get to the end, single crochet the last 5 stitches.
Repeat this back and forth until the hat is wide enough for the circumference of the head wearing it.
sew up the long edges.
sew up the very end of the single crochet side of your work, pulling the thread tight to close the circle.

It's definitely simple enough for even a beginner to do, but not based on my explanation! I will find the video and edit.

Anyway, I loved this!
